The Stray Cat Strut

After several weeks of a few wobbly steps before crashing into Mom or Dad, I finally seem to be getting the hang of this walking thing. In fact, I think I'm doing the stray cat strut.

My 1st Birthday Party!

My first birthday party was AWESOME.
My girlfriends came over and I wore my new party dress,Omma helped me pull the balloons down from the ceiling,
Katherine played air guitar for me,
Violet inked herself with a new tattoo,I had my first cupcakes (which came on fire... very unexpected...though delicious... I made short work of the chocolate and carrot cake), but most importantly I had all 4 grandparents, Uncle Corey and Cousin Rosemary in town to help me celebrate. Woohoo, let's do this again next year!"Happy Birthday to me, happy birthday to me.
Happy BIRTHday dear ELiiiiiiiza. HappyBirthdaytome."

Baby Birthdays

My moms' group friends and I are all around one year old, so we decided to get together to celebrate. It was a little harder to get us all to sit for a picture than it was last year, so we decided that we should let the moms be in the group picture too. We also got cupcakes!
Donovan, Hanora, and Anya got the picture that this was a pretty special treat. I, on the other hand, held out until mom handed over... the good stuff.

Labor Day

Last year, shortly after I was born, I heard my mom and her friends talk a lot about "labor." It did NOT sound like any fun. So I was a bit worried when my parents mentioned that "Labor Day" was coming soon. Thankfully, it turns out that Labor Day has nothing to do with being in labor (whew!). Instead, it seems to be about inviting a bunch of people over to hang out around the grill and stuff ourselves with the last bounty of summer - WAY more fun!

Malini's Annaprasana

My friend Malini had a big day this weekend. Her uncle helped her take her first bites of rice pudding - yum! And then, she had the important job of picking her career. First she was a little surprised that she had to make this big decision now. But she focused carefully on the choices and decided that her interest in science and medicine would have to be combined for an MD/PhD and a career in medical research. Which is good for her friends and family, since her brother and I both showed a preference for a career in golf.

Welcome G'ma Debbie and G'pa Mike!

Grandma Debbie and Grandpa Mike are now officially local.
They've rented a 2BR in Alamedawith beautiful wood floors but, more importantly,
a STAIRCASE! I loved climbing up to the top. Coming back down, well, that's another story.
I am looking forward to many more adventures with Grandma Debbie and Grandpa Mike!
