American Idol - NPR style

I was so excited to learn that our friend Glynn made it to the top 10 of the American-Idol-of-public-radio Public Radio Quest that I broke out my "I Love Glynn" onesie, hand-painted by the artist himself! Now he needs our help - make sure to 1) signup and then 2) VOTE for GLYNN to bring good ol' fashioned storytellin' back to the American radio dial!!

Bridgette Slides Into Town

Dad's good friend Bridgette is in town for 48 hours after a conference in San Anselmo. I took her to my favorite park by the lake where we went down the slide. She was a little scared at how steep it was
but I told her to trust me and all would be fun.

M&S' House"cooling" Party

Despite hours of intense lobbying, Molly, Suzanna, Jack and Maisy are leaving for Columbus, Ohio July 5th and had their house"cooling" party this afternoon to say goodbye to their Bay Area friends and unload some great kiddie stuff they didn't want to haul east. I took the opportunity to wear my new hip dress from Alex, play with my friend Dylan, stand on Daddy, and have a last romp in the Maxwell Park grass with Maisy. I'm gonna miss them.

The Great Pluot Massacre of 2007

On the way home from Clear Lake, we stopped in lovely St. Helena for a picnic. While mom and dad were sipping wine and savoring some stinky French cheese, I dug into a deliciously messy pluot. It made quite an interesting pattern on my belly... and was lots of fun to eat!

Father's Day in Clear Lake

We rented a cabin in Clear Lake (the largest freshwater lake entirely in CA and ~3hrs north) with Molly, Suzanna, Jack and Maisy this weekend in a last hurrah before they moved to Columbus, OH July 5 [ :( ]!
The temperature and water were perfect and Jack loved the boats so we upgraded to a FAST speedboat Saturday afternoon for some waterskiing and cruisin'.(I happily snuggled into my full-body life preserver as we bounced and skipped along the lake at 45 mph)On Sunday, we celebrated Dad's first Father's Day with a nice breakfast and what else but a new tie (one to wear and one Jack made in day care).

Summer Fun!

This week it is Very Hot here - I guess this is what this summer thing is all about. Fortunately, my friend Zoe's grandma has a pool - and Zoe clearly has the swimming moves down already.

Block Party!

This weekend we had our annual block party. It was awesome - the kids took over the street. Harper and I gave the adults some grilling tips from our unique vantage point. And at the end I got to kick back with a cold one...

Take me out to the ballgame

I checked out my first A's game this week. I liked all the people and loud noises. The game we saw though was apparently a "pitcher's duel" which also means a little boring if you are sitting in left field and are not paying close attention. Here I am trying to start a rousing round of "Let's Go A's" to drown out all the Red Sox fans.p.s. Yes, my mom knows that Barry Zito is no longer on the A's.

Hugs and Kisses to Omma

Recently, I got some scary news. My Omma was just diagnosed with breast cancer. At first I didn't know what to do to help which was very frustrating. Then I had an idea. Since her treatment starts tomorrow, I decided to send my dad on a special mission to bring her a gigantic hug and slobbery kiss from me. He is on his way right now. Hope it makes her feel better! Here I am showing how I give big hugs and kisses.

Baby Carcassonne

Today my friend Anya came over to play Carcassonne. It was quite an intense matchup - here I am a little skeptical of where she chose to place that farmer. In the end though, she outmatched me by drawing the key connecting piece on the last turn. But I got her back later by snatching back my red ring! It was fun . I can't wait for our next playdate/matchup.

Eliza and Alex Play Blocks

Here's a video of my hand-eye coordination as it applies to blocks.

(I'm still learning the technical elements of posting video so bear with me on this one...)
