Spontaneous Trip to Russian River

It's wet and blustery here so rather than spend it all inside at home, we made a spontaneous decision last night and went out to a new B&B on the Russian River. After getting to stay up late (!) and then having bread pudding for breakfast, I can say that we all highly recommend the Sonoma Orchid Inn for a quick getaway.

Fairyland - Right Here in Oakland!

Today we visited Children's Fairyland, which first opened its doors (or shoe, to be exact) in 1950. In the early 50's Fairyland had a few important visitors. One was my Grandma Debbie, who came to visit here in 1952 when she was visiting her cousins who lived in San Francisco. Another was Walt Disney, who cited it as one of his inspirations when he opened the Magic Kingdom a few years later.Fairyland is less than a mile from home and right on Lake Merritt. You can see downtown in the distance. Along with the rides and activities based on fairytales (including the Jolly Trolley), we saw some real live animals just like the ones I read about in my books. I was excited to see the bunnies and the chickens, but I didn't want to get too close to the goats. They looked like they might like to start nibbling away at me. Fortunately, Dada and Rosemary gave them some yummy snacks to distract them.We had so much fun, well... it went straight to our heads.

Momma's Back!

It's beautiful here today so we celebrated by going to the beach at Albany Bulb behind Golden Gate Fields. The dogs didn't seem to mind that the water was still officially off limits because of the November Cosco Busan oil spill. I did my part by looking after this little seashell.

Which means G'ma Debbie, Papa, and Dada are taking care of me.I miss Mama but at least I get to play with my special ball-popper while Dada takes a shower.

My Own Super-Duper Tuesday

Wow, what a day! After voting again this morning (notice my sticker and lips pursed in an 'O' for Braack Braack Obaaaama), Grandma Debbie took me to Studio Grow in Berkeley, for a walk along the Alameda inland waterway,

and read me some cool books.Every election day should be so fun. Now, about that delegate count...
